There is a roundabout way of saying this, and a straightforward way. I’m gonna go with the latter, just to shake things up around here.
I’m stepping back from all active editorial duties at TheMittani.com. I recently got a new position at SOE, and upon extensive consideration, I feel that it is in both my best interest and the best interest of the site to avoid any and all allegations of bias due to that position in terms of the content coming out of TMC.
To be clear: I have not, nor would I ever, allow my current position at SOE interfere with content coming out at TMC. However, as I’ve written previously, it isn’t always about integrity, but the appearance of integrity. Already some…individuals…have made subtle allegations that my dayjob has interfered with the running of the site. It hasn’t, but I expect such allegations to only increase in frequency as time goes on.
I will remain listed as a staff member, and if you are a TMC contributor you’ll see me on jabber too, because I like you guys (except Tegiminis). I will be around for advice and such as well. But I will no longer be involved in the editorial process at TMC. No writing, no proofing, no publishing, no whipping, etc.
On a related note, this blog is coming down too, next time my renewal comes up. So long, and thanks for all the fun times.
